Binary Tree [Solo Dev Game Jam #4]

Grow the roots of your binary tree by collecting leaves and water! You consume water to grow deeper. But the deeper you grow, the more energy your tree will need to survive! So be sure to have enough leaves to photosynthesize while maintaining enough water to keep growing, or it's game over!

Click in each box, left or right, to choose a path for your roots. Use W and S to pan up and down the dirt to follow your root or review your progress! The numbers indicate the total number of each resource beneath it. The resources can be split unevenly, so higher numbers could mean a jackpot at the bottom!

Known bugs:

• Game Over sometimes just freezes the game. Click on a resource option to progress to the pause/game over screen.

Planned features:

• Select choices with A and D (omitted from jam version due to bugs)
  • Left/right and controller support added in post-jam versions.
• Final root preview on game over.
  • Game over scrolls past the player's root in post-jam versions.
• Leaves falling off on game over.
  • Removed in favor of keeping the tree to celebrate the player's progress.
• Mobile app release (Android)
  • apk files can be exported and downloaded to android devices, but more mobile-specific features are needed.
